Sonicwall Backup

Hello to all, i am testing Unimus with a Series 6 Sonicwall Firewall.
The backup is created and readable.
But restoring it does not work.
The synthax to import the file is correct as I tried with a txt backup created via Sonicwall CLI and it works.
With unimus backup instead i receive errors.
The two files (the one created via Sonicwall CLI and the other via Unimus) have different sizes and content.
So is there a way to fix this issue?

Hello Giorgio,

What Unimus does during a backup is set the screen length for the session to 100 to force paginated output, and then it issues show current-config to retrieve the backup. We set the screen length because some SonicOS devices take too long to output the backup without paging. Once we collect the complete output, we perform a few formatting steps—such as removing empty lines from the beginning and end or trimming trailing whitespace from each line—before storing the backup in the database. These modifications should be harmless, but they explain the difference in size you mentioned.

To properly investigate this, we would like to review the backup differences in more detail. For that, we suggest organizing a Zoom session to look into the issue directly. Could you please create a support ticket via our customer portal, and we will provide you with the next steps?
