Trying to configure a backup user in pfSense 2.7.2 to use with Unimus 2.5.1.
The ip 192.168.1.93 is whitelisted in the System > Advanced > Login Protection

SSH access works, but it fails at : SSH: KNOWN_CREDENTIALS_REFUSED
SSH also works manually in Putty

pfSense > System Logs > Authentication
sshd[1065]: Accepted password for backup-user from 192.168.1.93 port 59230 ssh2
sshd[1065]: error: PAM: Authentication error for backup-user from 192.168.1.93
sshd[896]: Connection closed by 192.168.1.93 port 59225
sshd[896]: error: Fssh_kex_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

backup-user has the following permissions in pfSense (i've added these while trying to fix the issue):
admins WebCfg - All pages
User - System: Shell account access
User - Config: Deny Config Write

I'm at a loss because I can't find any relevant documentation with step-by-step instructions. Another thread that had this issue solved it by whitelisting the IP, but that hasn’t resolved the problem in my case.

I've since updated Unimus and it's cores to 2.6.1 and the issue still persists.

Hello,

the best way to proceed is to create support request via Unimus customer portal. By that, we can guide you through downloading logs which we need for proper investigation.

Thank you.

Hi simon-cit,

the pfSense authentication issue was fixed in the latest 2.6.3 release. Please update your Unimus and let us know if everything is working as expected.
