Hello,

I currently have a Unimus server running on Windows Server with approximately 400 managed devices. The installation is using the embedded HSQL database, and I’ve been tasked with migrating the deployment to a MySQL backend.

Before proceeding, I wanted to confirm whether there is a supported way to export the existing HSQL database and import or migrate it into MySQL. From what I’ve been able to find so far, it appears that migrating between database types may not be supported and that the only option is to perform a fresh Unimus installation configured for MySQL and then re-add/reconfigure devices from scratch.

Can anyone from the Unimus team confirm whether this is correct, or advise if there is a recommended migration approach?

Thanks in advance for the guidance.

Hey, welcome to the forums.

You are correct. Currently there isn't a great way to migrate Unimus HSQL Databases to other kinds of DBs.

We are working on an external non-GUI tool, but currently it will only support moving to PostgreSQL. From there, it's much easier to move between PostgreSQL and MySQL, but I personally would just use PostgreSQL if that's workable in your environment.

The developers say it should be ready in a few days, if you could open a support case and mention that you are looking for the migration tool and that Techical Presales sent you over we will send you the link for that when it's ready.
