Indeed, mixing license tiers is not possible. This would just be very messy - and the issues and hassle of managing which device is "Standard" vs. "Advanced" would become problematic fast...
So would it work to set up a second license key on https://portal.unimus.net, assign 20 perpetual beta licenses, buy 20 advanced licenses for $2.80 and assign that license key to a separate unimus instance?

I only seem to be able to get SMB licenses in the portal for €4.90?

If you need 20 licenses, no need to buy additional licenses. You will only pay the "upgrade" price (that's why I mentioned the price difference between Standard vs. Advanced). So if you want 20 devices with the full Advanced feature set, you will just pay 20x $2.80 per year (price difference between Standard and Advanced).

If you need 40 licenses (be that across 2 License Keys with 20 device seats each, or a single License Key with 40), and you already have 20 Beta Lifetime licenses, you will also need to purchase additional 20 Advanced licenses at full price - 20x $9.70.

Or to sum up, if you need 20 Advanced licenses assuming you have 20 Beta Lifetime licenses:
- 20 Beta licenses (counted as Standard) = free
- 20 licenses upgrade Standard -> Advanced = 20x $2.80 per year
- Total = $54 per year (eq. to $4.50 per month)

To get 40 Advanced licenses assuming you have 20 Beta Lifetime licenses:
- 20 Beta licenses (counted as Standard) = free
- 20 licenses upgrade Standard -> Advanced = 20x $2.80 per year
- 20 licenses Advanced = 20x $9.70 per year
- Total = $250 per year (eq. to $20.83 per month)

Hope that makes it a bit more clear :)

Yes, this is not yet live on the Portal, as the pricing changes and the Standard vs. Advanced tiers only come into effect on October 1st.

Question about configuration compliance

Are you planning to integrate with sources of truths to compare the desired state against the live running configuration? There’s already NetBox integration for device sync.

This would be very useful. We use NetBox as our SoT for multiple automation tools, and it would be great if Unimus could run compliance checks against the SoT to detect configuration drift.

I fully understand the reasoning behind the price increase, and think it's reasonable.
You and the team have made great software and you should be compensated fairly for it!

With that being said, I do not agree with keeping SAML and OIDC behind a paywall.
More and more organizations are doing away with local LDAP services and moving to the cloud.
For those small organizations, LDAP may not be an option, but centralized authentication is.

Better security should be encouraged and not penalized because the budget doesn't work out.

The new compliance feature alone is worth the switch to the Advanced tier!
I'm sure you'll create other new features that could be limited to Advanced, but authentication should not be.
I support orgs that require central auth as a policy, but have no need for the compliance component.

That's just my 2¢
