[Implemented] Schedule = never

Some of my devices have been retired. I don't want to lose the backup history and I don't want Unimus to keep trying to back them up. I have set a schedule for the 31st of every month; this limits to eight backup attempts per year.

I would like a to either 1) setup a schedule for an invalid date (never backup), or 2) archive a device's backup (Unimus - just don't even try).

You may be asking why not download the config, save it somewhere, and delete the device. I'm counting on the 'diff between devices' feature request to become a reality in the future. Besides, it would be nice to keep the archives in cold storage for potential future comparison of replaced/retired devices of the same make.

Would a "Manage" and "Unmanage" functionality be acceptable for this?

Basically, when you "Unmanage" a device, Unimus will no longer perform any tasks on it, and manual tasks ("Discover now"/"Backup now") would not be possible.

Final effect would be what you are describing, the device would stay in Unimus (including its backups), but no operations would be possible on it, until its marked as managed again.

That would be great...
Plus, an "unmanaged" device should not count towards the license count! ;-)

The manage / unmanage (without it using a license) would solve my issue that I posted here:

Thanks!

Manage / Unmanage functionality will be coming soon(tm).

Devices that are unmanaged will however still count towards the license limit.

This is because:
- unmanaged devices will keep their backups (which is the point)
- diff for them (and cross-device diff with them) will still work
- config search for them will still work
- config push / mass reconfig will still work with them as well

Basically, unmanaging a device will turn off any and all scheduled jobs on a device, but manual interaction with the device will still be possible.

You could have a 100 unmanaged devices in the system and do a mass config-push to them.
So since most of the features of Unimus will still work on those devices, they will require a license.
