This has been pushed on roadmap a long time. Any real ETA?

Hi,

Sadly this comes out to development resources (time) limitations. Due to massive amount of time spent on performance improvements, heavy focus on security, the new APIv3 and the new SSH client library (which was quite necessary since the lack of newer crypto algos in our old one was really starting to hurt) over the last half year, MSSQL support had to be pushed back.

We are hoping to actually bring MSSQL in for 2.3.0 - as this is our next major feature release. We are currently finishing on 2.2.3 and then development is moving on to 2.3.0. However the targets for 2.3.0 are quite loaded - we are finalizing the scope over the next weeks actually. I will post and update as soon as the scope is finalized.

If not 2.3.0, then one of the point releases in the 2.3 branch.

We have a new Unimus version 2.3.0-Beta1 live now, which contains added support for MSSQL. You can find more information in our Beta branch thread

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1599

If you are running Unimus on Windows, then feel free to just download and run the installer.
In case Unimus is deployed on Linux, then unless you are running it already, I would first recommend upgrading to the latest stable version (https://unimus.net/download, currently 2.2.4), stopping Unimus service afterwards, downloading the new executable (.jar file) from the Beta download page and replacing the existing binary in /opt/unimus folder with the new one.

Note, it is important to mention that to migrate to MSSQL, you will need to setup a new Unimus deploy, data migration is currently not supported. MSSQL will be available to choose during the initial Deploy Wizard.

If you get a chance, give it a try and let us know if it worked as expected, or in case you encounter any other issue or if you have more questions regarding MSSQL and/or the migration.
