Hi,

Is there any plans on adding support for VMWare environment, such as, vCenter and vSphere, backups?

This would be a two step procedure, first you'd have to ssh to the ESXi host and issue the following commands:

vim-cmd hostsvc/firmware/sync_config
vim-cmd hostsvc/firmware/backup_config

Then you'd have to download the binary backup file via https.

Currently looking for an automated backup solution for our 5 esxi host. Unimus would have been perfect with this feature!

Hello guys,

Thank you very much for your interest, we have created an internal ticket for this and will look into backup options closer. It will require more research on types of backup we can retrieve (text vs. binary) and then necessary protocols used to transfer these. It is possible that it may end up being partially contingent on implementation of HTTP(S) connectors into Unimus, which is also in our queue and on our roadmap

Any update? This has been on roadmap a long time.

No updates on the ESXi support yet. It is contingent on support for HTTP(S) connectors to download any created backup. These have been currently postponed beyond Q4 2022. This is one of the major developments and there is a limit of those which can fit a major release, but as we work on future releases the features in the roadmap are always our priority, but they are also those which consume the most resources, so thus why some of them have been postponed already. All of this is to make our roadmap and major development planning much more realistic and accurate.
