One of the issues I've had with a large number of devices in the system is the currently rather blunt search box on the devices page. I'd love to be able to filter by values in specific columns and build up that query using AND / OR functionality. For example selecting all of a previous vendor kit at a site with naming convention X but not the kit of a different vendor (the new vendor). That would allow us to make changes to large amounts of equipment at once.
Thanks,
Ed
[Implemented] Advanced Search capabilities
Hi,
we certainly agree with you that such an improvement would be needed. We would particularly like to introduce improved filtering for other parts of Unimus as well, not only for 'Device view'. For this reason, we have already included this feature in our backlog, but there is currently no ETA stated yet. Anyway I will keep you informed in case of any news regarding this feature.

Good news on this front - the advanced filtering is now done, it's coming in 2.10.0.
Like shown in the design I posted, we've added per-column filtering across the Devices screen (every column except filters and comments). You can build multi-condition filters and combine them with AND/OR logic, and each column has its own set of operators - Contains, In, Not In, Is Empty, Is Not Empty. Tag-based filtering is covered too, including Unmanaged devices.
Your filter configurations are saved per-user, so they'll be remembered for you next time you log in.
We've also added configurable column visibility on the Devices screen, so you can show only the columns relevant to you (search applies to the visible columns).
We plan to push 2.10.0 into stable next week.
