Yes, to upgrade, simply re-run the installer.
It should take care of everything, and after the installer finishes, you should be running the latest version.

Last job status indicators and last backup date for devices are available starting with 2.0.0.
"Devices" screen shows color indicator for last job status.
"Devices>Info" shows last backup date specifically as well.

This was indeed a bug in 2.0.0-Beta builds, it was fixed in 2.0.0-RC1, and it should work without issues in 2.0.0 stable release.
