Re: Multi-tenancy / more granular user controls?

The Tagging works well to restrict devices to users (setting it up could be a little more intuitive if you care for that feedback) Feedback would be much appreciated. Ok. Will take me a bit to mock it up and flesh it out. The basic gist is it's a bit clunky atm. Too many clicks etc. Especially if/w...

Re: Unimus is 'chatty' in the I/O

In a case where the system starts to swap, it's not just Unimus that is casing such IO. When RAM runs out, pretty much ALL Linux services use the swap for all their scheduled jobs / tasks. Basically, you are seeing the IO that the entire Linux system needs from the RAM when idle (using the word &qu...

Re: Unimus is 'chatty' in the I/O

Thinking about thsi a bit more - while you may very well be right about the ram/swap, I wonder what is Unimus doing during this time when it should be essentially idle, that is requiring any memory change? I mean if no one is accessing the web ui and there are no scheduled jobs, then what is it swap...

Multi-tenancy / more granular user controls?

So I'm thinking about Unimus as something we might be able to package for some of our clients where we manage all the IT (not just router/network). In this instance I would grant a login to the server but looking to limit things more than the read-only role. The Tagging works well to restrict device...

Re: Unimus is 'chatty' in the I/O

I dont think the problem here will be HSQL. How much memory do these VMs have assigned? By default Unimus is configured to use up to 768MB of RAM. If the machine has less, it will claim all the RAM, and the VM will swap. This would create the high IO you see. Ok Tomas. In fact these VMs have a bit ...

[Fixed in 1.8.0] Slight UI "bug"

Ok, not so much an actual bug as an inconsistency but it's irritating. In the 'device access tags' table you have the 'manage accounts' button above the 'devices' column and the 'manage devices' button above the 'accounts column. It's not a major "bug" in that functions work but visually i...

[Solved] Unimus is 'chatty' in the I/O

Hey now, Have a small test VM running (Deb9 on Hyper-V 2012) on an iSCSI storage target with 5 routers in the backup rotation. There is one scheduled backup per day, around 3am and these routers do not change often. They are using HSQL backend. When watching these iSCSI targets (looking at utilizati...

Re: [Solved] Migrate Unimus across platforms?

Could you please post the output of: cat /etc/unimus/unimus.properties | grep "database.path" ls -l /etc/unimus/hsql cat /var/log/unimus/unimus.log | grep "Connecting to database" -B 3 -A 3 Doh! My mistake - fat-fingered the path in .properties    All good now!

Re: Migrate Unimus across platforms?

Hi, Migration is possible. You had it right, but you need to change the DB path in the configuration file. So do: 1) Stop Unimus on the old Windows system and new Linux system 2) create "/etc/unimus" on the new Linux system 3) copy "unimus.properties" and "hsql" direct...

Re: Licensing and pricing change on 19th Feb. 2018

Thanks for a considered and thought out reply Tomas. My intent was food for thought (esp. since it's not likely to affect me anytime soon.) I'm glad the stepping idea makes sense and you're moving on it. I think it's a good compromise point :) I also get the issues with support. Again, just meant to...
