Re: Offline mode

Unimus never submits ANY confidential data anywhere. All data are kept local - we do not currently collect any information from local instances, other than licensing. When in HA mode, the only thing that is synced between instances are devices. To be precise, device addresses only are synced - and t...

Re: Offline mode

Hello,

We currently do not support fully offline mode.

Here is a link to a previous topic where the full explanation for this is available:

Re: Support for multiple devices behind NAT

Hello, In Unimus, each device is identified by a single unique IP, for multiple reasons (happy to provide those if you are interested). Therefore, we don't support NATed devices. You have a couple options here: 1) use a VPN so each devices is directly routable from the Unimus server 2) deploy a remo...

Re: do i need firewall to use unimus?

From a security perspective, binding is better (more secure) than credential discovery.
Binding is simply a method to avoid credential scanning on a device.

Re: do i need firewall to use unimus?

Apologies, but I am not sure I understand the question. In general, if you don't want Unimus to be blocked by IDS/IPS, or other security: 1) bind credentials instead of doing credential discovery 2) use just a single connector port, instead of having multiple ports and doing port scanning 3) if you ...

Re: backups are all in one document

Hello,

Unimus shows a new backup point only when configuration changes.
So as soon as there is a change, there will be a new backup point, and you will be able to diff.

Re: [Solved] Failing to discover IOS-XR

For anyone finding this in the future, adjusting the timeout settings fixed the issue. We often see similar issues on older / slower / heavily loaded Cisco devices. This can be fixed by adjusting the "unimus.core.inter-connection-delay" timeout option. We have a Wiki article that explains how to adj...

Re: Console logs in backup

We have a strong rule not to modify the config of a device during read-only operations (which a scheduled backup is). As such, we do not want to do 2 config modifications (enable something, disable it after). There are quite a few reasons for this - in particular many customers use backup triggering...

Re: Console logs in backup

Hello, This depends on the configuration of the switch. If the switch is configured to output logs to console (VTY), Unimus will pick those logs up as well. You can simply disable console logging by doing "no logging console" in configure mode, and that will disable logs for all VTY sessions. (just ...

Re: Failing to discover IOS-XR

Hello,

Can you please enable BOTH Debug Logging and Device Output Logging?
After that, run a discovery and wait for it to fail.

Then please download both log files, and create a ticket on the Portal and attach the logs.

Thanks!
