Re: do i need firewall to use unimus?

Apologies, but I am not sure I understand the question. In general, if you don't want Unimus to be blocked by IDS/IPS, or other security: 1) bind credentials instead of doing credential discovery 2) use just a single connector port, instead of having multiple ports and doing port scanning 3) if you ...

Re: backups are all in one document

Hello,

Unimus shows a new backup point only when configuration changes.
So as soon as there is a change, there will be a new backup point, and you will be able to diff.

Re: [Solved] Failing to discover IOS-XR

For anyone finding this in the future, adjusting the timeout settings fixed the issue. We often see similar issues on older / slower / heavily loaded Cisco devices. This can be fixed by adjusting the "unimus.core.inter-connection-delay" timeout option. We have a Wiki article that explains how to adj...

Re: Console logs in backup

We have a strong rule not to modify the config of a device during read-only operations (which a scheduled backup is). As such, we do not want to do 2 config modifications (enable something, disable it after). There are quite a few reasons for this - in particular many customers use backup triggering...

Re: Console logs in backup

Hello, This depends on the configuration of the switch. If the switch is configured to output logs to console (VTY), Unimus will pick those logs up as well. Re: Failing to discover IOS-XR

Hello,

Can you please enable BOTH Debug Logging and Device Output Logging?
After that, run a discovery and wait for it to fail.

Then please download both log files, and create a ticket on the Portal and attach the logs.

Thanks!

Re: ASA Backup Failure

Hello,

Can you please enable "Other settings > Debug mode > Device Output Logging" and run a discovery on one of the ASAs?
After it fails, download the Device Output Log file.

Please create a ticket on the Portal and attach the log file, and we will investigate.

Thanks!

Re: Debug Log location

Hi

The debug log is in:
/var/log/unimus
C:\ProgramData\Unimus\log

We use log rotation, so max log size will be 500 MB.
(10 log files with 50mb max each)

Re: [Fixed in 1.9.0] Noifications on config change: exclude lines

Hi we are just trialing your software and planning to go ahead with it, but I've noticed Fortigate is detecting changes everytime backup is rune due to private-key generated. can this be ignored? Hi, Can you please create a support ticket on the Portal, and attach the config change notification mai...
